From the European South

a transdisciplinary journal of postcolonial humanities

6 (2020) | anticolonialismo e postcolonialismo nelle arti visive: prospettive italiane

Issue 6 (Spring 2020) of From the European South welcomes unpublished and original con- tributions dedicated to the visual arts which, from the 1960s to today, have dealt with decolo- nial and postcolonial history. We urge an ‘Italian perspective’, to be understood both as Italian artists interested in struggles and the decolonial process, in colonial heritage, in postcolonial approaches and themes; and as international visual research (fine arts, moving images, new media art, performances …) dedicated to the Italian colonial history and heritage.

We invite you to send

– articles, interviews, creative interventions;
– explore visual artist productions from the 1960s to the 21st century related to archival events, iconography, myths, problems and themes, decolonial and postcolonial, linked to the aforementioned “Italian perspective”
– on the history of contemporary art, museums, collections, exhibitions, art critics, linked to the aforementioned “Italian perspective”
– with a historiographical, transdisciplinary or visual culture approach
