Un corpo nero, un corpo disabile. Morire per futili motivi

RAHMA NUR

Abstract

A Black Body, a disabled body. Dying for trivial reasons. At the end of July 2022, a white Italian man murdered Alika Ogorchukwu, a disabled Nigerian street vendor, in Civitanova, Marche. The police excluded any possible racist motivation behind the homicide. The death of Alika Ogorchukwu, refracted by the white gaze of the mainstream media which denied wholeness and humanity to the victim, is instead to be acknowledged as the result of both racist and ableist violence against a Black, disabled body.
