Così mi vedo: testimone, custode della memoria, esiliato che vive al margine del mare, rifugiato nella lingua. Una intervista a Yousef Elqedra

Sana Darghmouni, Yousef Elqedra

Abstract

This interview is a conversation with Palestinian poet Yousef Elqedra, whose work carves its own path in the tradition of testimonial poetry. In this dialogue with his Italian translator, Elqedra, currently based in Marseille, reflects on the relationship between poetic language, memory, and the trauma he experienced in the Gaza Strip. His insights offer a significant contribution to studies on contemporary Palestinian literature. The interview explores the aesthetic, political, and existential dimensions of Elqedra’s work, emphasizing poetry’s role as a tool of resistance and a means of preserving collective memory.
