This CfP is a warm invitation to participate in the celebrations for the tenth anniversary of From the European South journal in Spring 2026.

It is addressed to all those who, in various ways, have contributed to the growth of the journal from 2016 to the present—editors, authors, reviewers, readers, supporters, friends and allies—who have cultivated with us a perspective from the South of Europe and the Global South, practicing critical and engaged thinking in the search for transdisciplinary lenses through which to represent the post/decolonial present.

Anniversaries are moments of celebration and recollection of what has been achieved, but also opportunities to raise questions, looking both backward and forward: the ten years spent working to promote postcolonial studies in Italy and to build an international network for dialogue compel us to reflect on how we might or should re-read what we have done, and on what levers we may use to maintain a fresh gaze on reality despite the polycrises we are living through—believing, with Margaret Atwood, that “a word, after a word, after a word is power.”

We therefore propose a twofold way to join our celebrations to those of you who are willing, able, interested:

1. by sending us an abstract (max 300 words, by 15 September 2025) for a contribution to be published in March 2026, responding to or engaging with the issues raised above, or with the core themes of the journal, or proposing ideas and projects for future issues of FES;

2. by submitting the definitive version of your contribution (essay, interview, review, creative writing, or visual art piece) by 15 December 2025;

3. by participating in a one-day event for sharing and disseminating the outcomes of this Call, to be held at the University of Padova in late Spring 2026.

We would love you to respond to our invitation, first by confirming your participation and, second, by sending your abstract by 15th September.

Acceptance of contributions will be communicated by October 1st, 2025.
